In August of 2010 The Lower Farm Historic Preservation and Sustainability Council conducted an adobe workshop with participants arriving from across the country. The photo at right prior to the workshop shows exposed adobe blocks and the effects of weather erosion. The upper portion of this wall has the last remnants of an original adobe plaster coat. These walls have had little or no maintenance for over 50 years and possibly much longer. A July, 2011 inspection revealed minor flaws in only one small area and the overall restoration process was determined to be successful. The Council will host more adobe workshops in the next few years to complete preservation work on this 150 year old adobe structure.
